Brandy Alexandre was raised a Mormon, but her childhood was often difficult – including spells in care facilities after being mis-diagnosed with mental health issues, and a string of inappropriate older boyfriends, a number of whom introduced her to sex movies on the big screen.
After leaving home, she became roommates with Bill Margold in Los Angeles, then one of the pivotal figures of the adult film business, responsible for many actors starting out in the industry. With Brandy however, the story was different: Bill was adamant that she wasn’t suited to porn movies – too nice, too smart, he said. Brandy pushed back, and persuaded him to find her work. Bill eventually obliged, initially only in non-sex parts, but Brandy was undeterred and eventually got her way – becoming a fully-fledged adult film star. So what happened next?
After decades away from the scene, Brandy recently re-appeared on Instagram, sharing a remarkable collection of her photographs and memories from the adult film years.

I dimly recall that there was drama on the Luke Ford website. I used to read his stuff, because he covered an interesting beat, but as a “journalist” I found him to be sloppy and low effort (I read like a page of one of his books in the bookstore and there were even typos there). He also seemed like kind of a bad guy, like he had chosen this niche so he could feel smugly superior; basically the opposite from the Rialto team in every way.

I remember when she was answering questions on internet newsgroups.
She said she was a big fan of X Files. Must been 1994 or so.
Good interview. I would have to disagree with Brandy though in her claim of being blacklisted in the early 90’s, i worked in the biz then, and later owned an adult video store, and i never heard of anyone doing that or suggesting she not be hired. The truth is she just lost popularity with directors, and fans, because she was kind of tame, a no anal girl in the time when anal themed films were exploding in popularity. Especially seeing as she was Buttman’s girlfriend! She had a reputation as an anal dodger, it started thanks to that Caught From Behind film where they had to use Tanya Foxx as a stunt double and faked it to look like it was Brandy. But i remember a lot of people being confused by her appearing in Buttman films yet not doing anal. She keeps talking about what a great ass she had, and she did, but that’s the problem, she wouldn’t use it! it’s really as simple as that. There were nany better looking girls who were willing to do it and more, and thus she lost popularity and people stopped hiring her. No conspiracy.
oops, regarding my earlier post, i think i confused her with another girl, looking back at iafd she did do a small handful of anal scenes, but still not that many, just 8 or so, and i have all those movies on my plex collection and looking at them, a couple of those were very short, shot in the dark, weirdly edited (shadow dancers) i still think though that it was a combo of that, and just hotter, hungrier girls were coming up at the time.
Seems like I need to get the book published and set the record straight. 😉 FYI, at the outset, Buttman was NOT about anal content—it was John’s obsession with simply the beauty of butts. How it evolved is another story entirely, moving the direction the business was moving. He was never all that into anal himself at the time. As for CFB-9, I wasn’t hired to do it, so there was no “had to” for the stunt butt. It’s just what Charlie did.
