Adam Film World 1972: An Issue by Issue Guide

We look back at the west coast publication Adam Film World by re-publishing all the issues published from 1972.

While the publication only released seven issues in 1972, Adam Film World was finding its groove. The magazines are filled with loads of both mainstream and sexploitation film reviews as well as interviews that also cross both genres. And the magazine ends the year with a deep dive into making adult films, including a ‘first hand account’ of watching a porn film being shot:

I found out right away that the people who make porn films are very paranoid about everything. They have to be. The cops are always busting them. When they couldn’t make the arrests stick on making porno they would try arrests on the basis of prostitution (the people were hired to fuck) and when they lost most of those they started on arrests for oral copulation, which is a crime in California…  I had to meet them at 10am in a supermarket parking lot.

These issues include a series of articles on mainstream stars including Robert Mitchum, Dennis Hopper, and Sidney Portier; adult performers including Uschi Digard and Candy Samples; profiles of many adult films; and much more.
