How is that as we approach our 100th podcast, The Rialto Report still hasn’t interviewed Kelly Nichols?
It’s not as if she was a brief flash in the pan who came and left in a hurry: in fact, Kelly had two noteworthy careers in the adult industry. First, she was a star in front of the camera in the early 1980s, where she was considered one of the best actresses in films such as Roommates, Puss ‘n Boots and In Love, and earned legions of fans and plenty of awards for her performances. Then she was even more prolific as an adult film makeup artist, working on hundreds of movies from the late 70s all the way up through just a few years ago.
Along the way, she also appeared in the film ‘King Kong’ (1976) as Jessica Lange’s stunt double, had a memorable role in the cult horror film The Toolbox Murders (1978), and even made an adult film in in Australia the 1980s.
Yet given all her success, how is it that someone recognized by many as one of the most beautiful women in the business, has often thought of herself as an ugly duckling.
We don’t know why we’ve waited so long, but at last, it’s time for Kelly Nichols story.

Kelly Nichols
Looking forward to this. Met Kelly briefly after the 2014 “In The Flesh” screening of
“Roommates” in NYC. Wish “Roommates” and “In Love” would the special edition treatment. Keep getting promises that the former is coming, but still waiting…
Very cute!
Wonderful! Kelly is so insightful and lovely. Thanks Rialto!
Glad to hear Kelly tell her story. She was gorgeous and had an amazing screen presence. And now after listening to her podcast, smart on top of all of that.
Now, how about a podcast for the 3rd “Roommate” Samantha Fox? I know she’s very reclusive, but she’s one of the biggest surviving stars from the era yet to tell her full story. Although I’m sure she’s up there among the most requested stars from fans for a podcast.
Samantha Fox is the #1 starlet I’d love to hear OR read (if that’s the only way) an interview with!
WOW! Being around Kelly Nichols has made me dumb since the day I first met her. You live long enough, you come to realize that some things in this life are just not meant to be. Ashley, I have waited years to hear some of the stories you have covered in this long-overdue interview with one of the most charismatic women to have ever graced the adult screen. She was and is amazing. Thank-you both for this wonderful interview! xoxo, the ghost of Richard Pacheco
Thank you so much Howie. Can’t wait to read the new book!
Wow…fantastic interview with one of the hottest women of the golden age. She did a scene or two for Derezy which are the to the point, no frills just hot content.
Also, I remember a Hustler issue that just had a full frame close up of her face nothing more…
The overnight drive to Detroit just got a whole more enjoyable. I bet I listen to it two times in a row. You guys are without peer. Much gratitude and respect!
That was an awesome interview…Kelly was so forthcoming, so well-spoken, so self-deprecating. She was truly one of the brightest lights of the early 80s. Met her briefly at the “In The Flesh” screening of “Roommates,” where she graciously signed my “Roommates” DVD and “In Love” VHS. What a great start to the new year.
My friend, Tony DiDio, who was the producer of “The Toolbox Murders” said Kelly made that movie a cult favorite.
I looked at my Stitcher feed yesterday and my eyes lit up when I saw Kelly Nichols was on the Podcast. Thank you for this one as she was always one who brought realism to the screen. I’ve had a lot of favorite films but ‘Dixie Ray, Hollywood Star’ is always one the rises to the top.
This was really a New Year treat.
Wow! What a great interview. Kelly was one of the best. Great to hear her story. Could you possibly interview Annette Haven?
Always loved Kelly’s flicks. Great interview. Another very good flick was Slip Into Silk, actually have that one on dvd.
Great Show!!! I was hoping to hear about her experiences working on Alex de Renzy’s 1984 classic: Ballbusters! I would’ve thought that would’ve been a major film in her filmography.
Another great podcast! Looking forward to many more! Kelly was my favorite.
Dear Kelly ,I realy enjoyed your podcast ,loks like we had the same break from religion, i was asking the same questions when i was trained for my communion, got kicked out .It was a pleasure to know and work with you. When i think that “Turn on with Kelly Nichols” will educate the future generation about sex , make me proud (sic)

Most interesting, and such a stunner. Cheers, RR!
I’ve wondered if Kelly got a good deal on diffusion filters for ‘Turn On With Kelly Nichols’. 😉
That was so cool. I never saw Kelly in a movie. She seems like someone great to hang around with.
