Barbara Dare was a superstar of the adult industry in the 1980s video era. She was one of the first contract girls – initially with Essex Video, then with Vivid.
Then she disappeared from the industry over 20 years ago and has rarely been heard from since. This week Barbara shares rare, previously unpublished photos she selected from her personal collection especially for The Rialto Report.
In next week’s Rialto Report podcast, we’ll feature the first in-depth interview with Barbara in almost 30 years.

Oh boy – I’ve been banging on about getting a Barbara Dare interview on this fine site, and now my life will be complete!! Barbara was the dope, simply the finest on the scene in the 1980s, and she still has many fans.
I met Ms. Dare in a Florida strip club back in ’91 and have never forgotten the experience.
Can’t wait for the podcast to hear Barbara’s voice now and hear about her story. Only the Rialto Report is able to show the real person behind the public persona.

Barbara Dare is an eternal force of nature – only part of which is a sexual hurricane. And, she looks like a very sweet person, too. I remember her from my teen years. What a mystery women were then – and Barbara cast a powerful spell. Thank you Rialto Report! Thank you, Barbara!!

Barbara Dare was an absolute favorite of mine back in 80s/90s. She was one of those ladies that I dreamed about as a teen. She seemed like she was very passionate and “real” with her sexuality. I was instantly attracted to the entire package she brought to the table.
I feel fortunate that I had the chance to meet her in the early 1990s (can’t recall the exact year but I think it was 1993 or 1994) when she came to Minneapolis to dance at Dream Girls in town. I have a Polaroid picture with her from that night (I sent it to Ashley and April). I remember she and I talked about how she had gone to the Mall of America here in town earlier that day/week. She seemed to really like it. She was nice and down to earth. Very attractive. I just wish I could have had more time to talk to her! 🙂

I saw a 2009 video of Dare on YouTube, and she still looked fantastic. She always seemed so down-to-earth onscreen, I can’t wait to hear what happened to her.

Damn….two of my favorites, Barbara Dare and Nina Hartley. Actually, two of the few that I actually know their names! I was merely a young teenager iin the 80’s and bought every magazine and video I could with these two in them. You both were my sex life for the first few years I had sex ( laughing ) and Barbara, you are truly a beautiful woman, and Nina, I still can’t look at that ass without needing to rub one out to this day!
I saw her in Oct. 1987 High Society. Lion’s mane hair and the blue spandex one piece. Wow, I was hooked ! Fitness, aggressiveness, and overall beauty describe her.
I was a young wife watching porn with my husband when I saw Barbara Dare … to be blunt… V to V in a video. And I realized I was with the wrong gender. She was absolutely stunning… and had such a commanding presence. I am such a fan (albeit in secret).
I have searched high and low for that video and I can’t seem to find it… even when I try to search Barbara Dare Movie Databases. That particular movie doesn’t seem to be out there. I would love to hear from anyone that can help me track down the movie. I always thought it was with Nina Hartley… but, now I am not sure. The premise was (I think) Barbara was a High Priced Madame and the other actress was a Virgin. Barbara was going to “break her in” before a big auction of wealthy men. *sigh!*
