We’re pleased to present a selection of photographs from David Rice, also known as Jack Monro – photographer, part-time adult film actor, writer – and the manager and partner of Jill Monroe, the first transsexual adult film star in New York.

Following the recent Rialto Report publication of party photographs belonging to John A. Mozzer, better known as adult film actor Alan Adrian, from the late 1970s through the mid 1980s, we’re pleased to present a second collection of party photographs from the same period.
Many of these pictures feature Jill Monroe, subject of the upcoming Rialto Report feature ‘Who was Jill Monroe?’, and Marc Stevens (shown above), her adult film actor friend.
We’re hugely grateful to David for allowing The Rialto Report to present his photos.

OMG – these are pictures are divine…! Where have they been all these years… simply amaaazing!
Love Marc, Jill, Robin and the gang – many happy memories xxxx
I’ve had them with me all these years. Just never saw an outlet for me to show themselves at.
In truth, after all these years, I never even occurred to me that there would even be an interest.

Great to see some love for Jill Monro – I’ve been looking for information about her for years. Eagerly anticipating your story on her. Love the podcast.
Jackson,
TY! I have all the information right up here (points to head).
From her humble (non porn) beginnings to her sad & untimely death.
I welcome any q’s about her/us that may be missed or overlooked when the story is published.
No doubt, lots of what’s gone around can be attributed to nothing more than urban legend tho.
Hey Dave/Jack:
I’m LOVING these pictures. I’m a big fan of the culture of the 70s – music, films, books, you name it – and the more “outre”, “underground”, “avant-garde” or just plain fabulous, the better. I was a bit too young during that time to be allowed into discotheques, sexy clubs, adult film shoots and the like, plus I only arrived in NYC right after 1987 & was able to only catch the tail-end (no pun intended) of the Deuce as it used to be.
But with these amazing material I’m able to “travel back in time” and fill those spots within my soul. Photos like these, films like these, testimonies from the artists & performers of that era are part of the documentation of the sexual history of americans during a certain time & place. For that reason alone it must be preserved.
And it’s so much fun to view it and enjoy it.
WOW. Haven’t thought of Xenon for over 20 years. Not a regular, but went there a few times. I loved seeing those Marc Stevens invites from Alan Adrian a while back. Thanks for sharing David. That photo with Cherry Bomb reminded me that I worked with her back in the late 80’s (knew her as Rusty Hamilton) at MacFadden Publications. Anyone know how she’s doing?
Hey NYCrex – I remember Cherry Bomb too. I met her once in the 70s and she was writing articles for Cheri about rock bands of the time. I remember her article on Motorhead for example.
Cherry Bomb – where are you now?!
Not too long ago, Cherry Bomb was doing webcam shows on ifriends dot com. Time has been very kind to her.
I love it when someone scans the original film (i.e., 35mm transparencies) rather than old, discolored prints. Thank you, David!
